I am originally from Downingtown, Pennsylvania. I moved to beautiful North Wilmington in 2000. I worked for 26 years as a contractor, but due to back problems it was time for me to change careers.
I knew that I wanted to do something that I enjoyed like I did when I was working with my hands. So I asked myself what is my passion in life? And I had my answer, it was animals. I have over 30 years experience dealing with all types of pets. In my life I had every pet there is birds, reptiles, fish and of course dogs and cats. And I am also Pet First Aid Certified.
I did some research in 2006 and by talking to some of the local pet sitters, they all told me that there is plenty of business out there. So in 2007 I finally started and got bonding insurance and a license. Joining PSI (Pet Sitters International) was helpful for me getting started and getting new customers.
It turned out to be the best decision I ever made. I truly love my work. I get so much joy when I go to a customers home, open the door and there is a beautiful dog all excited to go out on a walk.
